Designed for compressing the valve springs in overhead cam engines to allow cam follower (rocker arm) removal. Designed for the 2.3L SOHC Ford engine with roller or slider followers but works for many other SOHC and DOHC engines as well.
Works by sliding under the cam and gripping between the lobes and then pressing down on the valve spring retainer when you pull on the ratchet handle. Works with 3/8" or 1/4" drive ratchet or breaker bar which allows this tool to work in tight areas where other tools may not fit.
