Performance PiMP Standalone Engine Management (2.3, 2.3T, 5.0, 4.6)
The Stinger Performance Plug-in Microsquirt Powered (PiMP) engine
control unit
is the most high-tech and capable plug and play option available for Ford
EEC-IV equipped vehicles. Plug and play means you remove the stock ecu,
plug in the P.I.M.P., run a vacuum/boost line from the PIMP to the
engine, follow a few basic setup steps, plug in a wideband o2 meter, and it's ready to start up and
begin tuning. It also allows you to remove the factory air meter (VAM on
2.3T cars, MAF on V8 cars) and run a filter directly off of your turbo
or cold air tube.
Not only does it allow you to remove the factory air meter (which is a
huge restriction on 2.3T powered vehicles) but it also features VE Live
which is an auto tuning capability build into the tuning software. This
powerful feature will tune the engine on it's own while you do nothing
but drive around under varying conditions. This allows the end user to
tune the idle and cruising portion of the fuel map to "better than
stock" often in less than 30 minutes. Additionally, the PiMP comes with
a base tune featuring dyno proven and safe timing maps that can be ran
as provided or fine tuned to your particular setup as you see fit. The
PiMP also allows for any injector size and type readily available for
your application. When upgrading injectors, your new tune for larger
injectors is only a few keystrokes away. The rev limit can be changed in
seconds and the 2-step launch control feature (for building boost on the
line when drag racing) can be configured to any trigger rpm and launch
rpm you see fit. An advanced feature known as flat-shift is popular in
many forms of racing, the intent of which is to hold boost between
shifts to eliminate lag after shifting. It can also be configured to any
rpm and timing retard value to tailor it to your car and driving style.
Additionally, the PiMP can trigger two stages of Nitrous or Meth/Water
Injection as well as switch to different fuel, timing, and target AFR
tables when these systems are activated. Table switching can also be
triggered via a toggle switch or the factory premium fuel switch so you
can have "Race" and "Cruise" tunes or any other combination of tunes you
may desire "on the fly". All of these features are configured to use the
factory wiring harness and sensors for activation, though aftermarket
switches can be used for Launch Control/Flat Shift activation if
desired.
The PiMP is designed to run the ignition system stock to your vehicle by
default. Many different Ford ignition systems are supported including
TFI, DIS, EDIS, CDI (MSD style ignition boxes), and via the Internal
Expansion Port, Individual Coil Packs with a Crank Trigger. For
non-stock ignition systems, additional wiring modifications or additions
may be required.
The P.I.M.P. is a joint venture between Stinger
Performance and Wes K.
Wes has been a member of the Turboford community since 2004, and
actively involved in the Megasquirt project since 2004. Wes has also
been a MS Extra Alpha and Beta tester for several years, and has had
real input into the development of MS2 Extra and MS3 firmware. In
addition to the DIY/Megasquirt type projects, Wes has worked as an
engineer in the motorsports industry for several years, including
experience with many high-end motorsports ECU's. This ecu began as a
personal project of his and as time went on he decided it would be most
beneficial to have more boards made and offer them to the masses. At that point he
contacted Stinger Performance and we began working out the details and
coming up with a final product for production. With two engineers
involved with the design and support of the PiMP, the attention to
detail and quality is second to none.
The PiMP can be connected to laptop via USB or Serial port. We do advise you use
the Serial cable if your laptop supports it. If you only have USB
capability, you can purchase the required USB to Serial adapter
HERE.
The PiMP was designed to work in any EEC-IV (OBD-1) Ford vehicle
(~83-95), though it hasn't been testing in all possible applications.
The tested and verified working applications are listed below.
All of the software and documentation needed to get you up and running
comes on a 1GB USB Flash Drive. That way you don't need wireless internet to
access these items. A 15 page startup guide covers every detail to get
you up and running including PiMP installation, software setup, hardware
configuration, and USB adapter driver installation (when required).

Delphi, Lucas, & Siemens Deka Fuel Injectors
Delphi
injectors are ball/seat design with 6 hole diffuser disc which gives quick
response time and very efficient operation at high duty cycles which make
them great for high horsepower street/strip applications. Rated @ 43.5PSI
Fuel Pressure.
Siemens Deka 4 Motron injectors are a new high impedance design that doesn't
exhibit the overheating issues at high fuel pressures. They are also very
linear like their low impedance counterparts which make them perfect for
high output 4 cylinder engines.
The ECU dictates if you must run low or high impedance
injectors. Stock 2.3 Turbos require Low Impedance. Our PIMP ECU can run
either High or Low Impedance. We are a big fan of the Siemens units with our
PIMP ECU.
55lb and 120lb are Lucas brand, 65lb-96lb are Delphi brand, 60lb-80lb High
Impedance are Siemens Deka brand.

Suitable for most turbo cars with an
Air Flow Meter
Made from billet aluminum, this atmospheric blow off valve dumps the
boosted air to atmosphere creating the "Whoosh" sound when the throttle
is lifted.
Unlike single piston or diaphragm diverter valves, this valve uses
counter balanced springs and dual pistons to prevent the valve from
leaking air into the intake system at idle or part throttle. This
prevents the valve from causing the driveability issues associated with
single piston and diaphragm type valves when used on vehicles equipped
with an air meter (VAM or MAF). Designed to be clamped to a 1" hose connection which is available on all of our intercooler kits.

Single Piston Blow Off Valve Type RFL
Made from billet aluminum, this
atmospheric blow off valve dumps the boost air to atmosphere through the
horn shaped outlet creating a VERY loud "Whoosh" sound when the throttle
is lifted.
Because this valve is a single piston design, it can created some
driveability issues if spring preload is not set properly which allows
the valve to open at idle or part throttle, creating a vacuum leak. For
this reason, this valve works best with speed density ecu systems that
don't use an air meter (VAM or MAF). This includes standalone ecu's like
Megasquirt, Haltech, F.A.S.T, etc. Designed to be attached to the 1.25"
flange included with the blow off valve. We can weld this flange to any
of our on all of our intercooler kits when ordered together.

Single Piston Bypass Valve
Made from billet aluminum, this recirculating bypass valve dumps the
boosted air back into the intake system pro-turbo keeping external noise
to a minimum.
Because this valve recirculates the air back into the system,

Stainless Steel V-band Flange/Clamp Assembly
Made from Stainless Steel, these flange
assemblies are a popular and effective alternative to traditional
flanged for slip fit tube connections. They work very well in operating
conditions involving stress, vibration, and extreme temperature
fluctuations. The V-band design allows for a gasket free seal and the
quick release feature makes swapping parts quick and easy. Sized to
slide over standard exhaust tubing for easy fitment and welding. Can be

Muffler Delete Pipes
These
pipes are designed for those who want to run our full exhaust systems
but don't want to use mufflers. These pipes go in place of the mufflers
and connect the midpipe to the tailpipe. They are slip fit on both ends,
just like mufflers are. One muffler delete pipe is needed for 3" single
systems and two are needed for 2.5" dual systems. You can use our
Torctite clamps to connect them to the exhaust system. If purchased with
an exhaust system, shipping on this item is free.

Stinger Front Mount Intercooler
This Intercooler was
designed specifically for SVO's and Turbo Coupes but will fit many other
applications. It will fit all 79-04 Mustangs as well. It features 3"
inlet and outlet, a bar and plate core, and hand polished end
tanks. Intercooler will flow over 700cfm and is rated for up to
700hp. Pressure drop is ~.06psi @ 15psi and ~1psi @
30psi. Pressure tested to over
40psi. Assuming an inlet temperature of 290ºF, the outlet temp is
~102ºF. For comparison, a large NPR's outlet is 112ºF. Mounting Tabs are
Heli-Coiled for Strength. Shipping Weight is ~20lbs. Couplers/Clamps not
included (available separately).

External Wastegate
These
external wastegates are built to Stinger Performance specs to perform
better than the lower cost alternatives that leak through the valve
stem, greatly hampering performance. These wastegates incorporate a
valve seal just like a cylinder head which seals the valve stem to
prevent leakage. Polished Stainless Steel and Polished Aluminum
construction. 35mm and 38mm use a 2 bolt flange, 44mm uses a 4 bolt
square flange. They come with a 12psi and 18psi internal spring. This means
12psi is the minimum amount of boost you can run. You
can still raise boost up to 35psi with an adjustable boost valve or by
changing wastegate spring. 2 Stainless Flanges, 2 Gaskets, 2 Banjo
Bolt/Nipple Assemblies, 1 Valve Seat, and Stainless Hardware are included. (38mm
shown)
