The Stinger Performance Plug-in Megasquirt 3 Powered (PiMPx) engine control unit is the most user-friendly and capable plug and play option available for Ford EEC-IV equipped vehicles. It uses the latest MS3 firmware. Plug and play means you remove the stock ECU, plug in the PiMPx, run a vacuum/boost line from the PIMP to the engine, follow a few basic setup steps, plug in a wideband o2 meter, and it's ready to start up and begin tuning. It also allows you to remove the factory air meter (VAM on 2.3T cars, MAF on V8 cars) and run a filter directly off of your turbo or cold air intake tube.

Not only does it allow you to remove the factory air meter (which is a huge restriction and packaging issue on 2.3T powered vehicles) but it also features Tune Analyze Live which is an auto tuning capability built into the tuning software. This powerful feature will tune the fuel table on it's own while you do nothing but drive around under varying conditions. This allows the end user to tune the idle and cruising portion of the fuel map to "better than stock" often in less than 30 minutes. Additionally, the PiMPx comes with a base tune featuring dyno proven and safe timing maps that should get the engine started and ready to tune to your particular setup.

Based on Megasquirt 3 technology, the PiMPx is designed to run the ignition system stock to your vehicle by default. Many different Ford ignition systems are supported including TFI, DIS, EDIS, CDI (MSD style ignition boxes), and when using the Internal Expansion Port, Individual Coil Packs with a Crank Trigger. For non-stock ignition systems or fueling strategies, additional wiring modifications or additions may be required.

The PiMPx was designed to work in any EEC-IV (OBD-1) Ford vehicle (~83-95), though it hasn't been tested in all possible applications. If your application isn't listed below, feel free to enquire about using this ECU for your 83-95 Ford EFI application as it will most likely work, we just haven't had our hands on one to be able to call it "verified". The tested and verified working applications are listed below. Note that the PiMPx doesn't require the typical "turbo swap" wiring changes to the harness like you have to do in order to run a factory turbo ECU in a non-turbo vehicle, or a Mass-Air ECU in a Speed Density application. This is especially important in the DIS/Dual Plug vehicles (91-93 Mustangs & 89-95 Rangers) where the turbo swap wiring is quite daunting.

***PiMPxs is the Sequential Fuel version of the PiMPx (requires injector wiring mods for applications that aren't sequential in stock form).

All of the software and documentation needed to get you up and running comes on a 1GB USB Flash Drive. That way you don't need wireless internet to access these items. A 20 page startup guide covers every detail to get you up and running including PiMPx installation, software setup, and hardware configuration. The PiMPx section of our Tech Forum is available to cover any questions you may have that aren't covered in the startup guide.

Note that all PiMPx's are built exactly the same from a hardware standpoint. The end user can configure the PiMPx to work with the vehicles/engines listed below without needing to send the unit back for upgrading unless using a PiMPx and going from a non-sequential to sequential setup (such as the 86-93 Mustangs) which would need to be upgraded to PiMPxs hardware. This means you can use it in a 2.3 powered car. Then if you purchase another 83-95 Ford down the road, you can re-configure it to work in the new car without issue. This is a feature that is exclusive to the PiMPx and not available elsewhere.

Also note that the PiMPx comes with all features built-in (***except Sequential Fueling). No need to pay for each feature or send it back to upgrade to additional features (unless they are advanced features that are not listed below). Some features do require some external hardware (nitrous solenoids, water injection pump, switches or relays, etc.) Also note that you can get $70 worth of software for only $30 with this ECU which you will not find anywhere else. Not for on-road use.

Electronic Boost Control Solenoid (Pierburg)
Intended to be used with our PiMP/PiMPx/PiMPxs ECU to allow the ECU to control peak boost and also how quickly boost ramps up to peak to control wheel spin. Plugs directly into the stock boost control solenoid harness on factory 2.3T vehicles. For those with non-factory turbo cars, this solenoid uses a standard EV1 injector connector which is easy to find and integrate into your harness. FID High Performance High Impedance Fuel Injectors
The FID 630-FID 2000's are Ev14 based High Impedance fuel injectors utilizing the latest in fuel injector technology. They come in sets that are matched within 1% static (I.E. Full Flow) and 2% dynamically (I.E. being pulsed). This matching process provides great cylinder to cylinder consistency. The matching process combined with the fast response and linearity of this injector produces amazing idle qualities, excellent drivability, and smoothness not found in other injectors of this size.

We provide injector dead times and flow rates at different voltage which makes calibrating your fuel maps easier. Note that they are flow rated using ethanol which has a higher viscosity than gasoline. So if the injectors are used with gasoline, they will flow greater than the flow chart says so don't worry if the flow rate on the sheet is lower than you thought it would be. It will say below the chart what percentage to add to the flow rate for gasoline.

The FID injectors will operate with up to 7bar of fuel pressure differential. These injectors aren't available with all types of electrical connector so we provide new pigtails if needed for your application; plug and play connectors are also available. They will be provided with hats and adaptors to fit your specific application. With each set of injectors you will receive top hats, injector clips (pigtails normally but we can send clips and pins if you prefer), appropriate seals, and some FID stickers. We do have the option available to add plug and play clips.
-The FID injectors are compatible with all fuels including gasoline, ethanol, and methanol.

These are only needed if the injector connector type is different than what your vehicle uses. For example, 86-95 Fords use EV1 connectors so if you ordered an EV14 injector, these plug and play adapters would adapt your EV1 harness to an EV14 connector without any cutting of the harness.
Without these adapters, you would cut the stock connectors off your harness and connect the provided pigtails to those stock injector wires.
Neither option is "better" from a performance standpoint, it just comes down to whether you want to plug them in with no modification or you'd rather save a little money by modifying your harness.

FID Injector Plug & Play Adapters
SAdapts injector connector to correct type for your application so you just plug one end into your harness, the other onto the injector, and avoid modifying the stock harness. Can only be ordered with injectors, otherwise we have no way of knowing what application you have and therefore which adapters you need.

Delphi, Lucas, & Siemens Deka Fuel Injectors
Delphi injectors are ball/seat design with 6 hole diffuser disc which gives quick response time and very efficient operation at high duty cycles which make them great for high horsepower street/strip applications. Rated @ 43.5PSI Fuel Pressure.

Siemens Deka 4 Motron injectors are a new high impedance design that doesn't exhibit the overheating issues at high fuel pressures. They are also very linear like their low impedance counterparts which make them perfect for high output 4 cylinder engines.

The ECU dictates if you must run low or high impedance injectors. Stock 2.3 Turbos require Low Impedance. Our PIMP/PiMPx/PiMPxs ECU can run either High or Low Impedance but if you are buying new, we highly suggest high impedance Siemens Deka or FID injectors.

We use a special hose type with the ECU to prevent erroneous MAP readings which negatively influence how the engine runs. We've had customers in the past use cheap generic vacuum hose and have all sorts of tuning issues related to the hose expanding with boost, or sucking closed from vacuum so we offer this hose to prevent this scenario. This MAP hose is for people who need a replacement for the original hose supplied with the ECU because they poked a hole in it, bought the ECU used and didn't get the hose, or need a longer hose for a custom application. Single Piston Blow Off Valve Type RFL
Made from billet aluminum, this atmospheric blow off valve dumps the boost air to atmosphere through the horn shaped outlet creating a VERY loud "Whoosh" sound when the throttle is lifted.
Because this valve is a single piston design, it can created some driveability issues if spring preload is not set properly which allows the valve to open at idle or part throttle, creating a vacuum leak. For this reason, this valve works best with speed density ecu systems that don't use an air meter (VAM or MAF). This includes standalone ecu's like PiMP/PiMPx, Megasquirt, Haltech, F.A.S.T, etc. Designed to be attached to the 1.25" flange included with the blow off valve. Universal Manual Boost Controller (Boost Valve)
Simple to use manual boost controller. Increases torque even at stock boost level by creating faster boost response so the turbo reaches max boost at a lower rpm. Simply install between your boost pressure source and your wastegate/wastegate actuator. The side port goes to the gate/actuator and the bottom port goes to the compressor outlet or other boost source. Then simply dial in your boost pressure by turning the threaded top cap (screwing cap in increases boost, screwing cap out lowers boost) then tighten down the lock nut to lock it in place. Adjustable up to approximately 25psi with the supplied spring. Adding a stiffer spring or shimming the stock spring will increase the max boost available. Warning: Increasing boost can be dangerous for your engine. Be sure you have sufficient supporting mods, fuel flow, etc. to support the higher boost pressure or engine damage will occur. We are not responsible for damages.  Has 3/16" (5mm) barbed inlet/outlet.  
Installation: Bottom port connects to a boost source (nipple on outlet port of turbo, or directly to vacuum tree). Muffler Delete Pipes
These pipes are designed for those who want to run our full exhaust systems but don't want to use mufflers. These pipes go in place of the mufflers and connect the midpipe to the tailpipe. They are slip fit on both ends, just like mufflers are. One muffler delete pipe is needed for 3" single systems and two are needed for 2.5" dual systems. Custom Stinger Front Mount Intercooler
This Intercooler was designed specifically for SVO's and Turbo Coupes but will fit many other applications. It will fit all 79-04 Mustangs as well. It features 3" inlet and outlet, a bar and plate core, and hand polished end tanks. Intercooler will flow over 700cfm and is rated for up to 700hp. Pressure drop is ~.06psi @ 15psi and ~1psi @ 30psi. Pressure tested to over 40psi. Assuming an inlet temperature of 290ºF, the outlet temp is ~102ºF. For comparison, a large NPR's outlet is 112ºF. Mounting Tabs are Heli-Coiled for Strength. These external wastegates are built to Stinger Performance specs to perform better than the lower cost alternatives that leak through the valve stem, greatly hampering performance. These wastegates incorporate a valve seal just like a cylinder head which seals the valve stem to prevent leakage. This kit includes an angled 2.38" coupler with two hump sections for additional flex to attach the turbo outlet pipe to the throttle body on non-intercooled 2.3T vehicles (83-86 Turbo Coupe, Merkur XR4Ti, Turbo GT). The two included T-Bolt clamps ensure the couplers don't blow off under boost. Our silicone couplers are constructed of 4 ply material, temperature rated to 392 degrees F, and pressure-rated to 43.5 psi at that 392-degree temperature.

Silicone 2.5" Coupler with 1.0" Tee Adapter for Adding a BOV/BPV
This kit includes a straight 2.5" coupler with a 1.0" tee port for adding a blow off valve or bypass valve to an FMIC kit. Can also be used to add a bov/bpv to a stock intercooler setup by using this coupler to connect to the throttle body. No need to completely cut the FMIC tubing to add this coupler, simply drill a 1" hole in the tubing and slide this coupler over the tube until it lines the tee port with the drilled hole. Add two 2.88" T-bolt clamps below (or 2.75" clamps if using between the stock intercooler and throttle body) to ensure the couplers don't blow off under boost.
