During the reflashing process, we can set up your ECM for aftermarket fuel pumps, electric fans, reduce fan switch on temperatures, and disable certain emission related sensors if your local smog laws permit it for your swap application. When this is required, the harness listing will mention the requirement in the description.  

This process can't be accomplished through hardware level ECM reprogramming and must be completed in conjunction with a flash programmer. It requires special hardware and knowledge to accomplish it with the SCT device. With that said, this process does not effect your ability to use your new SCT flash products for engine calibration changes (tuning) after you receive your ECM and new X4 tuner. 

Ford installs Passive Anti-Theft Systems (PATS) in their modern ECMs. When swapping to another application, this requires installing all the components and sensors from the donor vehicle to satisfy the anti-theft system (which is what's required for 2011+ applications).

This service covers Fords 2005-2010 with the 3 connector ECM's. There are rare instances where applications aren't capable of tuning but this is a rare thing that's dictated by SCT's available ECM definitions. PATS can be removed from these ECM's through the X4 programmer. 

If you want to use a manual transmission or an external trans controller then you need to start with a manual transmission ECM. Auto trans functionality cannot be removed to allow an auto ECM to work with a manual transmission. Some engines aren't available from the factory with a manual transmission in any application so keep that in mind when selecting an engine to use for your swap.
